Jasmyn
Hello! My name is Jasmyn, and I am the Preschool Director and Head Teacher at Little Butterflies.
I was born and raised in Berkeley, California, and later moved to Oakland, where I began my teaching career at Mills College Children's School. I hold an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, along with Early Childhood Director Credentials, and have over eight years of experience as a preschool teacher.
As an educator, I am passionate about supporting the growth and development of young children. I believe that it is foundational to provide a nurturing, fun, and engaging environment that gives children the confidence to explore, learn, and thrive. I strive to build meaningful relationships with children and their families to support each child's unique journey.
When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy painting, spending time with my family, sipping iced coffee, and bike rides around the city! I look forward to creating a warm, welcoming, and joyful learning environment for every child and family.
Kaitlin
Kaitlin is our assistant teacher. She is happiest when she is outdoors, going on hikes, camping, and chasing sunsets. She enjoys reading and being at the beach. Kaitlin loves having the opportunity to work with kids every day and teaching them. She thinks kids are so fun to be with and finds it fulfilling watching them learn and grow. She is going to school with a vision on becoming an elementary school teacher.
Arely
Hi! My name is Arely. I am a bilingual lead/assistant teacher with 10+ years of infant/toddler and preschool experience. I consider myself a lifelong learner, each family and place of work that I have come across has taught me something valuable. Starting in Montessori, to free play, to Reggio to HighScope, my range of adventures allows me to help children build individualized foundational skills. My goal is to continuously create a safe, welcoming and enriching environment, alongside our team, for all children so they may reach their full potential and comfortably flourish into their own person. I was raised in Santa Barbara then moved to another city by sea, Alameda, in late 2017. I am a proud mom of two elementary school aged children. My youngest graduated from Little Butterflies in 2026 and both have attended multiple Swings & Wings camps. My family and I enjoy going on playdates, mornings at the west-end farmers market, watching movies, FaceTiming family and cooking together. It’s doing the simple things in life together that make every day wholesome.

Sadiya
Hello! I am Sadiya, a licensed Occupational Therapist and founder of Little Butterflies Preschool. I love being able to view child development through a lens of a therapist and everything about this process fascinates me!
Working with children with over 20 years, I am always in awe of teacher and the difference they make in the early childhood experiences of children and their families. I feel lucky to have the support of amazing educators to create the curriculum at Little Butterflies. Creating this safe space in the community for children of all abilities and their caregivers to feel this joy has been an extremely gratifying experience for me. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my dream with you :)
